Common Edible And Drink Formats

Gummies And Sweets

Gummies and sweets are familiar, portable formats. Compare CBD per piece or stated serving, total pieces, ingredients, allergens and flavour rather than assuming every edible is formulated in the same way.

For a gummy-specific commercial comparison, the Best CBD Gummies UK guide covers CBD per gummy, pack strength, spectrum type, ingredients and value in more detail. If your search is specifically about sweets and candy-style products, use the CBD Sweets UK Guide.

CBD Drinks

Ready-to-drink formats can include sparkling drinks, seltzers and other beverages. For a drink-specific comparison, see CBD Drinks UK Guide. Tea and coffee have additional preparation and caffeine considerations covered in CBD Tea & Coffee.

Other Edible Formats

Availability can change over time, so use the current collection to see which food-led formats are stocked rather than assuming every edible category is always available.

Compare CBD Per Serving

Check the amount of CBD per gummy, piece, can or stated serving. Total CBD for the whole pack is useful only when you also know the number of servings or units.

Read The Ingredients

Edibles and drinks can contain sweeteners, flavourings, allergens, caffeine, botanicals or vitamins. Review the full ingredient list rather than choosing on flavour or packaging alone.

CBD Type And THC Information

Full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate describe extract profiles. They do not guarantee a particular THC level or effect. Check product-specific composition and THC information.

Current UK CBD Intake Guidance

The Food Standards Agency and Food Standards Scotland advise healthy adults to limit total CBD consumption from food to 10mg per day. Current precautionary guidance also identifies under-18s, people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, people trying to conceive, people taking medication and people who are immunosuppressed as groups for whom CBD foods are not recommended unless appropriately directed by a medical professional.

UK Regulation And Product Information

CBD extracts used in foods and food supplements are novel foods, but the current regulatory route differs across the UK. In England and Wales, the FSA's CBD products list allows eligible legacy products linked to progressing applications to remain under a transitional enforcement approach while authorisation decisions are pending; being on the list is not authorisation or FSA endorsement.

Scotland is regulated separately by Food Standards Scotland, which states that no CBD food products have yet been authorised as novel foods in Scotland. In Northern Ireland, the FSA states that CBD food products are currently unauthorised novel foods. If a CBD novel food is authorised in Great Britain, certain pre-packed retail goods may be able to move into Northern Ireland through the Northern Ireland Retail Movement Scheme, subject to the scheme's conditions.

Controlled-cannabinoid rules are separate from novel-food status. The commonly quoted 0.2% THC figure should not be treated as a universal legality test for a finished consumer CBD product.

How Edibles Compare With Other Formats

Edibles are pre-measured and flavour-led, while oils use a dropper and capsules use a supplement-style format. The best choice depends on your product preference, ingredients and label clarity rather than a promised effect. Use Shop by Format for a wider comparison.

Strength And Label Maths

Use the CBD Strength & Serving Guide for clear label comparison without personalised dosing advice.
